Fabshield 81N1 is a Self Shielded (Gasless) Flux Cored Arc Welding (S-FCAW) wire which is engineered to give high productivity, all-position welding capability, low Hydrogen (H8) weld metal with very high impact toughness, simple to use welding solution for outdoor welding applications. This wire is formulated with -40°C Charpy impact toughness conformance (undiluted weld metal tested as per ASME BPVC Section II Part C A5.29: AWS E71T8-Ni1 J H8 ). Where supply or/and protection of shielding gases is a challenge (like welding at yards, heights, barges, moderately windy conditions) this wire can be a big help to the users to start the welding with a simple setup. This wire can also be used for single-sided full penetration welding of pipes even T, K, Y joints of tubular sections involved in offshore structures. This wire also finds use on fill & cap welding applications of onshore transmission pipelines involving steel grades up to API 5L Grade 65.
